#20-5 HELPFUL TOOLS

5 helpful tools chronic illness pericarditis pacing

5 helpful tools

Hey everyone!

I created this blog especially to share my tips with other patients with pericarditis or chronic debilitating diseases.

Fatigue, brain fog, chest pain, etc., increase with the slightest effort.

So I looked for solutions that allowed me to stay independent while making my life as easy as possible.

I am citing brands in this article so you can understand what I am talking about, and not because I am sponsored. So that you know.

5 tools that help me on a daily basis:

soup maker chronic illness pacing pericarditis

1/ SOUP MAKER

I had already my Moulinex Soup & Co food processor for years before I felt ill.

I love hot, creamy soups. Just add some vegetables (frozen is even faster), spices and water, plug the device in for 30 minutes, and you're ready to go!

It cooks and blends the ingredients on its own.

It can be used to cook fruits for a delicious compote or applesauce or in blender mode alone for smoothies, for example.

Very practical and easy to wash (even if it is not dishwasher safe).

Find my favorite soups recipes here.

2/ SLOW COOKER

Similarly, I bought a CROCK POT slow cooker.

Add all the ingredients and she takes care of the cooking.

I originally bought it to make grandma's chicken broth (with the bones so I have collagen and all the nutrients) because it needs to simmer for at least 12 hours.

Finally, I also use it for dishes like beef bourguignon or stew. So good!

3/ FOLDABLE CART

I didn't think about it right away. Being athletic and in great shape before I got sick, I never imagined that carrying a suitcase or groceries could become a problem.

It was when I saw an elderly lady use a small cart that I realized how useful it could be to me.

It folds in half to save space for storage. These wheels are wide enough to overcome a lot of obstacles (be careful not to get stuck in the elevator) and it can carry up to 150 kilos. Brand VYNCKIER.

During the lockdown, I preferred to shop online and have it delivered to my door. Stacking the boxes of groceries and getting them straight into my kitchen was a snap.

My ego took a hit but getting my health back is priceless.

cordless vacuum cleaner pacing chronic illness pericarditis

4/ CORDLESS VACUUM CLEANER

It's an investment but it's well worth it.

Cleaning is so restrictive and exhausting. I acquired a DYSON V11 cordless vacuum with a lot of trepidation because I was worried it might not be worth the price. I do not regret. So light and practical. I use it every day. Effective on all surfaces.

Again, this is not sponsored and this is only my opinion.

steam mop pacing chronic illness pericarditis

5/ STEAM MOP

Also to make cleaning easier (which has become an extremely energy-intensive task for me), I bought a SHARK steam mop.

It’s not wireless, alas! But it is easy and quick to use. I love that the steam cleans and sanitizes. And it’s environmentally friendly.

Minimum effort for maximum efficiency has become my motto, it seems.

I hope these tips give you some ideas for reducing aches and pains and fatigue.

IN LIFE, EVERYTHING IS ABOUT ADAPTATION AND HUMILITY. TAKE IT EASY!

Pericordially yours,
