SEWING IS MY PAINKILLER

Hey everyone!

I like to say that “Sewing is my painkiller!”

Sewing is my way of dealing with extreme pain induced by pericarditis.

I need to focus on something other than the illness, pain and anxiety that comes with them. With pericarditis, it’s crucial to lower the level of stress as much as possible, because this directly induces a reaction of the pericardium (which contracts when we are stressed, anxious or frightened) and this worsens the symptoms.

Sewing is a quiet hobby allowing my heart to stay under 100 beats a minute.

That’s why I want to share my sewing journey with you all, and maybe inspire and help some of you to start or reconnect with sewing.

The video I share this week on my YouTube channel is great especially for beginners. You can make this laptop sleeve/mat for yourself or surprise your loved ones with a personal gift.

It’s a protection against scratches. But also, a very nice mat when put under my laptop (because apparently, I have sensitivity issues and I don’t like the contact with the hard and angular surfaces).

The initial videos date from January 2020. Yep! It took me 3 years to learn the skills to edit them. Never give up is my primary attitude for sewing, video editing, pericarditis recovery… You name it!

I hope you enjoy the videos, whether for the sewing part, or the editing part, or the music!! I love listening to playlists of the videos I’ve made when I’m cooking or when I need to calm down. Does that seem weird to you?!

Anyway, I hope you like them and subscribe to my YouTube channel for more editing adventures!

FORWARD, BACKWARD, FORWARD AGAIN, BUT STAY STRONG, ALWAYS.

Pericordially yours,

Vali
